Behavior is the internally coordinated responses (actions or inactions) of whole living organisms (individuals or groups) to internal and/or external stimuli, excluding responses more easily understood as developmental changes (Levitis et.al.2009). It is anything an animal does involving action and/or a response to stimulus.
It includes all the ways animals interact with other organisms and the physical environment. Behavior can also be defined as a change in the activity of an organism in response to a stimulus, an external or internal cue or combo of cues.
This course is a brief outline of what animal behavior is, what behavior analysis is, and when we can talk about pathological behavior.
